Radix Tree is an open and online tutoring and learning platform. On-screen text with synchronized audio and interactive investigations teach the concepts from Grade 12 Advanced Functions (Pre-Calculus) and Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors. Quizzes giving instant feedback, exercises, and enrichment and extension questions help consolidate learning. No login or special software is needed.
Mathematics competitions or mathematical Olympiads are competitive events where participants sit a mathematics test. These tests may require multiple choice or numeric answers, or a detailed written solution or proof.
Competitions are an important part of learning mathematics and a fun activity for students of all ages. At Radix Tree we are offering preparatory classes for the following contests held in North America and Canada:
The Canadian Mathematics Olympiad (CMO) is the official competition whose top performers earn the right to represent Canada at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). It runs each April. To be invited to write the CMO, students need to do very well on at least one of these:
Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC) – open to all interested students. Runs in November.
CMO Qualifying Repêchage (CMOQR) – by invitation only based on COMC performance. Runs in February.
The competitions above are all “full solution” exams on paper and are operated by the Canadian Mathematical Society. Past exams and solutions are provided free online.
